Add support for pure server side apps (bots)
i'm looking at the new o365 API for creating an email bot that can send reminders to people. This means that the user for the app is not a real person but an app authenticating via code. As far as i understand that is not supported right now, but it would be very nice :)
If there are work arounds or clever ways of doing this already, i'd be interested in that as well
sounds like something you could build using Microsoft Flow/PowerApps, or using a ADAL authentication against the tenant and parsing calendars on a regular basis (each night for instance)
Maybe he's polling or has an external trigger. Could you link/provide an example of how to do the authentication for a 'headless' (no browser, no UI) bot?
Btw i have a solution for loging in automatically to the service, but its a hack based on spoofing form posts and redirects around the login.microsoft.com site. It's also brittle since it assumes certin urls for getting the correct federation realm.
If there was a more backend friendly way to do this, i'd be happy :)
Some form posting probably can't be avoided, but it would be great if there was a script free version of portal.microsoftonline.com atleast
In my specific scenario the bot gets invited to events and when the event date gets close, the bot sends an email to the organizer telling them to Contact HR and tell them what food to order. The bot might also check the booked room and compare it to the number of atendees and suggest a room change to the organizer
