  1. Application permission for Presence

From https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/api/presence-get?view=graph-rest-beta, only Delegated (work or school account) is supported. Supporting application permission for presence calls is really helpful for enterprise usage.

  2. Restrict permissions to app-only Azure AD applications consuming Office 365 services on resource level

Large organization start leveraging the Graph API to provide integrations between their third party applications and Office 365. In such companies it is common to delegate the development of integrations from the central IT organization to other business units.
The current app-only permission priviledges are not appropriate for such types of setups since there is currently no way to limit the permissions for that app to a specific resource in Office 365. This makes such use cases impossible to implement.

As an example we could consider SharePoint Online. Whever a business unit has to develop a daemon tool that exchanges…

Work has started. We plan to build an experience where end users and administrators can pick a specific resource to grant consent to, such as a specific group or site. This will be programmable through Microsoft Graph API.

  3. add ediscovery on Microsoft Graph API

Suggest to add ediscovery to microsoft Graph API to execute query automaticaly (search contents, advanced ediscovery)

  4. Fully migrate AD users to Azure AD

I would like to be able to fully migrate my AD users to the cloud, so that when I use them to log into an AzureAD Joined Machine, the whoami CMD properly returns AzureAD\fristnamelastname. Right now there are hidden attributes accociated with the previously AD synced user, that causes the whoami CMD to return DOMAIN\username. This is preventing cloud migrations.

Response I received suggesting that I contact this team.

"This a known gap, that we're reviewing. Even though you have migrated the user from AD to Azure AD, the onprem SamAccountName is still intact on the user object, among other…

  5. Add "workingHours" object to API queries of bookingServices to expose custom availability

Booking Services can be configured with custom availability, through the MS OEM Bookings configuration portal. However this availability is not exposed to the 1.0 or beta Graph API.

My suggestion is to model the workingHours object from List staffMembers Graph API query. Just as custom availability is exposed for staff, it shoudl be exposed for services.

  6. Teams- Subscription to user presence updates

As it stands, the API to get Teams presence requires constant polling in order to track a user's presence in near-real time. It would be more useful if we could subscribe to all presence updates using a webhook.

  7. Graph API support for O365 email export/import in eml (binary) format

Requirement - Graph API support for O365 email export/import in eml (binary) format

EWS provides support to export and import emails in the said format, this is particularly useful when we require export of an email or any item with full fidelity that includes all meta-data and attachments.

While Graph API can provide us all the meta-data, but import of an eml file is not permitted. Looking forward for this feature, as this can be used to backup mails on my local machine and restore if it is lost for some reason.

This will also ensure, feature parity between EWS…

  9. Send message with a larger than ~3 MB file attachment

Through Graph, there is NO way to compose or quick send a message having, let's say, a 6 MB PDF brochure. I'm not asking for attachments of hundreds of MB, but the current limitation is a huge bug.
UploadSessions in the context of Messages could be a solution path to the inherent limitation of embedding base64 file content in a Json.

    Dear Microsoft Graph developer,

We are excited to announce that this feature is now available via Microsoft Graph beta endpoint for you to try. You can find more details on the release @ https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/office/blogs/attaching-large-files-to-outlook-messages-in-microsoft-graph-preview/

Please keep sharing your feedback, feature requests via the UserVoice forum.

  10. Microsoft Graph webhooks - groups - new drive notification

Send notification when new drive is created under the group. Currently, there is no notification - webhook created for /groups and also tested it with /groups/{groupId}.
Drive was added through sharepoint - new document library. With sharepoint api, there is also no such option - I'm only able to subscribe to a specific list({listId})/subscriptions.

  11. Add users to Shift groups

We can assign users to shifts through Graph, but we can't assign users to Shifts Groups.
It is essential for us as an organization, that we can assign users to groups in a Shift. We can add them to the TEAM, but from there, they can't take shifts in the groups.

  12. Update Event needs the option to send only to added or deleted attendees

Update Event should include a Boolean to enable an option to 'send notifications to added or deleted attendees only' that will stop notifications going out to all meeting attendees when the only property that has been modified is attendees. This is causing an issue where people are getting dozens of unnecessary notifications when a meeting owner adds or removes attendees using the API or via a connector (ex. Flow).

  13. Add Application permission to support AppCatalog.ReadWrite.All

According to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/api/resources/teamsapp?view=graph-rest-beta, only delegated permission is supported to manipulate Teams AppCatalog which means a sign-in user is needed when taking use of those APIs. However, the Application permission can provide the ability to make related actions more automatically and support more meaningful and realistic use-cases.

For example, my use-case is to provided an application to automatically install a new Bot, created in Azure, to Teams. So I really think the Application permission is needed.

  14. Get open shifts and assign people to them

We can get assigned Shifts through Graph (and Power Automate / Flow). But we can't get open shifts. It is essential for us as an organization, that we can run through open shifts and offering them to users.

  15. make Files.ReadWrite.AppFolder scope available for business accounts.

We have created a Microsoft Teams business app with a Bot that searches for specific content and posts filecards directly back to the user. For that we need to upload the file to the users OneDrive via Microsoft Graph.

As we are also focused on data security we would like to restrict our app and the permissions it uses, which led us to the Files.ReadWrite.AppFolder scope.
Unfortunately this scope is only valid for personal accounts and not supported on business accounts.
Therefore we have to ask the user for delegated Files.ReadWrite permissions which gives us access to the entire OneDrive…

  17. Allow to upload (POST) with a new Mail Message with MIME Content

As the Graph API now allows clients to retrieve the MIME content of an Email Message, it would be great if a new mail instance can be created using MIME instead of assigning individual properties i.e the Create Message endpoint should have support for uploading MIME Content.

  18. SharedMailbox members (mailbox permissions) via Graph API

We are trying to get the members (mailbox permissions) of a SharedMailbox via Graph API. We do not see any Graph endpoint at the moment that can help us get this information. We are in the process of building a custom application where we need to be able to perform read and write operations of SharedMailbox membership/permissions. This functionality is certainly available via the exchange online powershell and I can imagine this being a critical functionality which is not yet available in Graph API. .

  19. Add support for creating chat messages on the user endpoint

In the current graph beta, user chats and their messages can be enumerated using GET /users/{id}/chats and GET /users/{id}/chats/{id}/messages. However, new messages cannot be posted to the messages endpoint i.e POST /users/{id}/chats/{id}/messages . Please add this functionality.

The desired functionality exists for team channel messages by posting to the channel messages endpoint (POST /teams/{id}/channels/{id}/messages). Replicating this for user chats using the same json payload would seem to be the most appropriate solution.

  20. OnlineMeetings.ReadWrite.All Deprecation

Do not deprecate Application Permissions ability to generate Teams Meetings. This is a valuable function that is used to quickly generate a collaborative meeting for our IT teams to discuss major incidents or outages. Current delegated permissions flows do not allow us to do this in the same manner and will lead to us losing this functionality
